With the 2012 Olympics coming, Absolute have teamed up directly with Panasonic and Owl Visual, and taken on a selection of new HD Plasma screens to take full advantage of the current opportunities on offer.
The new additions to the inventory include 65”, 50”, and 42” PF30 series 3D ready screens to complement our existing stock of PF20 Series screens.
The 103” screens further add to our portfolio of premium rental equipment, which now includes the d&b Q series line array, Yamaha LS9 and M7 Series desks, Yamaha digital multicores, Christie HD8k projectors, Barco switchers, and Shure UHF/R radios.
This not only gives us a full range of commercial grade HD screens, but access to 3D technologies that we are seeing an ever increasing requirement for.
Our choice to stick with Plasma rather than move to LCD or LED, was the simplicity of the maintenance. When the glass or bezels become scratched or damaged, it is a very straight forward process to replace these enabling us to keep the screens in top condition throughout their life.
Screens available from Mid January 2012.Absolute have added a selection of new Panasonic HD screens to their rental stock including 2 x 103” VX200 3D units and MediaScreen lifters.
Brian Cook and Alex Parmee have been friends and colleagues for many years. Both now with young families and hectic work schedules, they have little time to pursue the interests they had when they were younger. Both of them live and work in the Cambridgeshire area and have committed themselves to raise a minimum of £6000 for the British Heart Foundation (BHF), registered charity number.
This challenge will take them from rainforest and intense heat, to freezing temperatures and low oxygen at the peak of 5,895 metres. The expedition will take 8 days to complete, trekking up to 15 hours a day.
They have put together a website that contains details of all the fundraising events they are putting together, plus updates of training progress and a link to the just giving sponsorship page.

Some new additions to our rental fleet include a D&B sound system comprising of a Q series line array, with Q subs and D12 amplifiers. This is to complement our existing C7 series system for corporate events in larger venues where greater throw and more accurate direction is required. It is our aim to expand on this further in the coming months.
In conjunction with this, we have also taken the step of purchasing a Yamaha M748CL, and LS9 32 channel digital mixers. Furthermore, Absolute can now also offer a reliable digital solution to lengthy multicore runs with a stock of Yamaha SB1608 ES stage boxes. A variety of CAT5 solutions can be tailored to your needs, with any Yamaha digital mixer and the associated expansion cards.

We have made a significant investment in additional high definition technology to support our client’s requirements in the coming year.
Additional Christie HD8K projectors, a selection of lenses and single point flying frames increase our high end projector stocks. We have also increased our HD Plasma stock and have purchased a large quantity of Panasonic 42” and 50” commercial plasmas to complement our existing fleet of 65” screens.
The demand for HD displays on client events is becoming more popular, and by investing in the higher resolution technology, we ensure that the stock we purchase now will have as long a life as possible.
We have also purchased 3D projection technology for our Christie units, and more details on this will follow soon.......

Absolute have recently opened their recording studio in the former Neve premises they occupy in Litlington, just outside of Royston in Hertfordshire.
The acoustically designed rooms can cater for bands, solo artists and voice over recordings, as well as offer the facility for camera and audio shoots. The live room, designed by a world leading acoustician can cater for 10 to 15 musicians and is ideal for all acoustic instruments and vocalists. The facility hosts a comprehensive array of state-of-the-art digital recording equipment, and we are also able to transfer audio to or from a number of formats such as DAT, Mini Disc, Cassette, Vinyl, and CD.
The specifically designed live room has 46m2 of floor space, offering acoustics that have a very individual quality for capturing sound without influence from room reflections. Moveable gobos allow for varying drum sounds from huge and lively to a tighter and more controlled sound. The control room is also acoustically treated and includes a Yamaha 02R Digital Mixer, Genelec monitoring, and Ableton Live 8 Software.
The studio is operated by highly experienced and friendly engineer / producer Matty Moon, who has been working in the music and IT industry for the past 15 years. We are currently offering introductory rates over the next 3 months, and the studio is available on daily, evening and weekend rates.
